چکیده
In continuance to providing a reliable and cost-efficient road construction material that would aid the development of sustainable pavements while also eradicating agricultural wastes protect environment, Cassava Peel Ash (CPA) modified asphalt mixture is seen be one most viable options. This study aimed determine suitability in hot mix for improved pavement performance. Using response surface methodology, central composite design was employed parameters, namely coarse aggregate (CA), fine (FA), mineral filler (MF), bitumen content (BC), cassava peel ash (CPA). CPA used as partial replacement varied between 0% 20%. The BC 4% 8%, MF 15% 20%, FA 10% 14%, CA 46% 52%. interactive effect parameters on volumetric properties mixtures evaluated. results obtained showed Marshall stability, flow, density, volume void, void aggregates at 1.8037–8.045 kN, 2.7-8.22 mm, 2.0426–2.3909%, 1.094–7.966% 55.5105–93.1393% respectively. These indicate interaction CA, FA, MF, BC, influences mixtures. From RSM analysis, prediction model an optimal condition 4.018% content, 20% ash, aggregate, were achieved Doi: 10.28991/CEJ-2022-08-10-07 Full Text: PDF

Evaluation of Fatigue Properties of Asphalt Mixtures Containing Reclaimed Asphalt using Response Surface Method
This paper presents the effects of different amounts of reclaimed asphalt on fatigue life of asphalt mixtures. Central composite method was used to design of experiments based on response surface method (RSM). Binder type (Pen 60/70 and Pen 85/100), reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) content (25, 50 and 75%) and loading strain (150, 250 and 350 micro strain) were selected as independent variables...
متن کاملIdentification Effect of Nanoclay on Engineering Properties of Asphalt Mixtures
Nanoclays are new generation of processed clays of interest in a wide range of high performance composites. In other words, nanoclay is defined as a clay that can be modified to make the clay complexes compatible with organic monomers and polymers. Here, it can be said that the polymeric nanocomposites are among the most exciting and promising classes of materials discovered recently. A number ...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Mechanical Properties of the cement treated Cold-in-Place Recycled Asphalt Mixtures
Cold-in-place recycling (CIR) is an environmentally sustainable alternative for preservation of asphalt pavements. A major disadvantage of this practice is the lower strength of the cold-in-place mixtures. Addition of cement into this type of mixture is a method for increasing its bearing capacity. The effect of cement content on the mechanical properties of the cold-in-place recycled asphalt m...
متن کاملPhysical and environmental properties of asphalt mixtures containing incinerator bottom ash.
This paper presents parts of the results from a research project sponsored by Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration (TEPA), investigating both the physical and environmental properties of asphalt mixtures using different amount of incinerator bottom ash (IBA) as fine aggregate substitution. The Marshall mix design method was used to determine the design asphalt content and evaluate the...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of Dynamic Modulus Predictive Models for Asphalt Mixtures
Dynamic modulus characterizes the viscoelastic behavior of asphalt materials and is the most important input parameter for design and rehabilitation of flexible pavements using Mechanistic–Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG). Laboratory determination of dynamic modulus is very expensive and time consuming. To overcome this challenge, several predictive models were developed to determine dyn...
